I believe that becoming more whole is an ongoing, unfolding journey that is vital not only to our own inner peace, but to the survival of our dear Earth and the evolution of all humanity. With this as my passion, I have completed studies in Community Services, Counselling, Psychology and various Psychotherapies including professional training in the Hakomi method.
Over the past 20 years I have been employed with both government and non-government organisations as a family therapist and counsellor and I have been privileged to walk beside people with various mental health presentations, alcohol and drug issues, relationship challenges, trauma, self-esteem, life transitions and a variety of other issues.
In my private practice, Heart Matters, I harvest this clinical experience and bring my professional understanding and personal wisdom to facilitate couples’ therapy, relationship workshops and support individuals in mind, body, heart and soul transformational processes.
A Warm, Integrative Practice - I believe that the most important element of successful counselling is our relationship, and I will endeavour to provide a safe, collaborative, warm, and non-judgmental space for you to feel seen, heard and understood. I enjoy tailoring my practice to suit your unique personality, goals and needs by skilfully integrating mindfulness, emotion focused, trauma informed, attachment based and experiential therapies to navigate the challenges and opportunities of life and inspire your fullest potential to live wholeheartedly.
A Mind-Body Approach - My practice is strongly informed by the Hakomi Method that grounds us in the present moment and encourages us to pay attention to our bodily sensations, feelings, and beliefs to speed up the important process of healing and self-discovery. Transformation occurs when awareness is turned mindfully toward present felt experience. In addition to relief from persistent, painful emotions and behaviours, we gain a much deeper understanding of ourselves, more freedom to choose our responses, greater pleasure in everyday living and engage in fuller, richer and more rewarding relationships.
Couples Counselling - Each relationship has its unique challenges and strengths and maintaining healthy, intimate and fulfilling positive relationships invites us to grow and develop as individuals. I integrate emotion-focused, attachment based and developmental therapies to help couples gain clarity about relationship issues and rebuild intimacy and connection in a safe and sacred space.
Couples and family therapy 11/2 hours 150.00
Individual counselling 1 hour 100.00
Please don’t hesitate to contact me for further information or to make a booking.
