Amelia Lemon Osteopath
At 30, Amelia then attended the University of Western Sydney to study her Bachelor and Masters in Osteopathic Medicine. At 35, Amelia purchased her first home where she still resides today in Mullumbimby. A little township she had frequented in the years in the past as her family had lived in the Byron Shire for many years. Amelia bought this house when she asked for a sign from the gods if this was where she was meant to be? Within seconds, thousands and thousands of beautiful butterflies flew right in front of her nose whilst she sat on the beach in deep introspection. Well that was the sign she was looking for! A Rabble of Butterflies! One could travel their whole entire life and never get to see something as colourful and amazing as that. As soon as her last Masters exam was completed some 2 years later, Mullumbimby Reliable removals was waiting at the door the very next morning to pack her up and send her up north where there were more colourful butterflies, dressed up as people of course, to share the rest of her days with.
When working from home for some 3 years, got too tiny and cramped, Amelia dived into buying another house and turning it into this amazing little multi-disciplinary clinic that we now call ‘Lotus Centre’. Phew! Glad that renovation is over with. When Mark Cochrane told me that the lining of this little workers cottage was the lining of the ‘Wollongbar”, the ship-wreck mast on main beach, I decided that was enough of a sign for me. My patients will walk in ‘a wreck’ and leave in harmonic alignment.
Needless to say that Amelia’s passions are jogging and in restoring and renovating houses and furniture, and of course she has a great love for the sea. Being creative is an absolute essential part of her being. Herbs and dry needling are her new passion as of late and the insatiable hunger for knowledge of the human body never ceases to this day.
- Amelia’s curiosity of human biosciences began when she studied Exercise Science at university at 18 in Sydney. Yes she was a city slicker! Born and bred! After that, Amelia’s career as a personal trainer/ fitness instructor went on for 9 years in Australia and abroad. Somewhere in the middle of all that Amelia’s curiosity began to widen for the greater knowledge of the healing capacity of the human body and doing star jumps wasn’t enough to quench her appetite any more.
